I moved to Dallas and Daniel was busy touring and recording with his other bands, so I made this whole album by myself. I made in my apartment with an analog drum machine, an early Fostex 8 track, a Peavey Mystic (my guitar of choice for a long time now - google it, you'll find a picture of me) and my bass. The multiple levels of mix down and overtracking really pushed my gear to it's limit. My experience making this album prompted me to buy a MUCH better Tascam 122 cassette mixdown deck.

This is the first album that holds thematic overtones - specifically bleak speculative fiction . "Book of the New Sun", look it up - Gene Wolfe is the shit. Also, Distant Desert War is obviously about Star Trek.
